T-Dub Biography

T-Dub was founded in the spring of 2006 when two longtime friends, Thierry Sertyn and Shaun Howerton, joined forces to create a fresh and distinctive musical project. Combining live instrumentation with turntablism and electronic elements, they set out to define a sound that blends groove, melody, and experimental textures.

Thierry Sertyn, also known as T-Dub, hails from Brussels, Belgium and brings bass, guitar, keyboards, and vocals to the band. His European musical background and multi-instrumental skills form the melodic and harmonic backbone of the project. Shaun Howerton, known as DJ Fuzion, is from the San Francisco Bay Area and contributes DJ skills and turntables, adding rhythmic drive, scratching, and atmospheric layers.

The two musicians met in Sacramento, California, where they began shaping the essence of their sound through intensive writing and studio sessions. Within less than a year, their creative chemistry led them to collaborate with other musicians, expanding T-Dub into a more dynamic and versatile live and studio ensemble. This evolution allowed the band to explore new genres, arrangements, and performance formats while staying true to its original vision.

T-Dub returns to Brussels and continues to work with his wife Matho on vocals and other artists. to develop a style that reflects its international roots and West Coast influences, blending organic instruments with electronic production.
